What's New?7/27/2010Midwife Independent Practice Bill Delivered to Governor MIDWIFE INDEPENDENT PRACTICE BILL DELIVERED TO GOVERNOR A.8117-B (Gottfried)/ S.5007-A (Duane), a bill that would eliminate the written practice agreement between a physician and a midwife and allow the midwife to practice independently, passed both Houses of the Legislature and was delivered to the Governor this week for his consideration. MSSNY opposed the bill and worked with ACOG to attempt to defeat it. MSSNY has sent a letter of opposition to the Governor, urging him to veto it. (ELLMAN, DEARS)
