What's New?7/26/2010MSSNY Meets with New York Congressional Delegation Members MSSNY Meets with New York Congressional Delegation Members MSSNY President Dr. Leah McCormack and MSSNY staff traveled to Washington, DC this week to meet with key members and/or their staffs of the New York Congressional delegation to highlight the potential health care access problems that may occur as a result of Congress' failure to enact a long-term Medicare SGR fix. It was pointed out that this failure, combined with some of the provisions of the federal health care reform law, could very well significantly reduce Medicare payments in future years. Congress recently passed and the President signed into law legislation to prevent for six months (until December 1) the 21% Medicare cut, and instead provide physicians with a 2.2% increase. This was the fourth action by Congress this year to prevent the cut from going into effect.
