Why is it so crucial that all physicians MUST join us for Lobby Day on March 9th?
Our lobbying in Albany makes a difference! You can't just leave it to someone else to make things better for you - there is no one else BUT YOU! YOU should come with us to Albany with us on Tuesday, March 9, so we can continue to build on the momentum we have already established and the POSITIVE outcomes we have achieved !
In the words of Rick Abrams, MSSNY Exec.VP: "Without physician presence in Albany, these positives will become negatives very quickly:
* "We have stopped all trial lawyer efforts to make things better for themselves and worse for you - e.g., extending the current statute of limitations, lifting the cap on contingency fees, and wrongful death expansion (to name a few of the numerous regressive bills that have been proposed). Stopping these bills was no accident. Our presence in Albany in March makes a difference.
* "Medical liability insurance premium stability through two straight years of premium freezes. This is not a solution to the medical liability problem, but it has saved physicians at least 10% on their premiums over the last two years. If you are an Ob-Gyn, Neurosurgeon or Orthopaedic Surgeon practicing down state, your savings have been substantial.
* "We have stopped all efforts by the health insurance industry to pass [such] initiatives [as caps on what out-of-network physicians can charge], which they call "default payment." This bill has gone nowhere. Again, no accident.
* "In fact, we have never been in a better position to finally pass legislation that will allow physicians to bargain collectively. We need physicians in Albany on March 9th to push for the passage of this critical legislation." Details for Tuesday, March 9:

ALL PHYSICIANS, RESIDENTS, STUDENTS, HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS, STAFF, AND FAMILY ARE WELCOMED!
County Medical Societies in each borough will have free buses available for round trip travel to Albany and all activities are guided and planned.
